About us?

MajorFit was founded and continues to be owned and operated by James & Emma Miller. A husband and wife team passionate about helping others reach their potential. They have dedicated years of their lives to acquire the skills and experience to do so.

Why Us?

At MajorFit we specialise in evidence-based programs for our training and nutrition services.  We are focused on providing fitness and nutrition services with the highest levels of customer satisfaction & we will do everything we can to meet your expectations.

James has a Bachelor of Physical Education from the University of Otago, and a Graduate Diploma in Physical Conditioning from the Otago Institute of Sport. James has a background in Strength & Conditioning where he has worked over the last five years with high profile teams such as the Vodafone Warriors and the Cook Islands National Sevens Rugby team. He also currently works with some elite tennis players in New Zealand helping them become fit, strong, and injury free. James will go out of his way to help you reach your goals and provide great advice for your journey.

Emma is a New Zealand Registered Dietitian, with a Bachelor of Science majoring in Nutrition, and a Post Graduate Diploma in Dietetics. She educates, motivates and supports individuals and groups to reach their goals via optimal nutrition. She also consults to corporate companies such as the Log Truck Safety Council, Go Logistics and Iosis Family Solutions. 


Emma enjoys all aspects of nutrition, and specialises in behaviour change, helping individuals break down old habits and build 'new normals', to achieve better health, and look and feel their best. 


We would like to welcome the newest addition to our team at MajorFit Nutrition, Dave Shaw. 


Dave is a lecturer in nutrition at the Auckland University of Technology, head dietitian for the Blues Super Rugby Team and weekly health blogger for the New Zealand Herald. 


Eating healthfully is as simple or complex as you want to make it. It’s about being mindful and identifying what works for you, this is where Dave excels. Everyone’s different, which means everyone eats differently. And for something we do several times a day, it’s important we do it right. 


So, whether you’re hoping to drop a few pounds or looking for peak performance, what you pick up with your fingers and fork matters. 


By having a hand in academics, elite sport and public health, Dave is able to integrate the most recent research into his practice in order to get the top results for his clients. He specialises in all areas - from gut issues to marathon running, family nutrition to helping people feel great each day.
